72 Half Shaft Question

72 Half Shaft Question
Morning everyone.... I think I know the answer but I'll throw it out there anyway.
Doing a body off on my 72' coupe and while cleaning up some rear suspension parts I discovered that one of the half shafts has a crack on the u-joint yoke rim (pass. trailing arm side) can this be repaired ? or should I just break down and get a new set? looking at Ft. Wayne Clutch and Driveline if I go new.
If I replace should I spring for a new set of 3-inch or find a used 2 1/2 inch stock and can you replace just one or do I need to go with matching set?....this is a base engine 200HP that I'm walking all the way thru... rebuilding diff, trans(TH400 auto), SB engine (going to around 330 HP) lots of new suspension front and rear.
going to be a weekend cruiser and will never see the track/strip...below are a couple of pic's of the half shaft....

if it's all numbers matching you're worried about, just have a driveshaft shop replace the end and rebalance. I would definitely NOT have anyone try to weld repair. This ,coming from a 48 years experience ,certified welder and auto repair tech. If it's not numbers matching you're worried about then just replaced the shaft. Maybe even both of them if it were me.
