Default open end lug nuts?

Looking for some strong shank lug nuts. Any brand stronger and proven more than the rest? McGard? Center Line? Weld?

Also, any big disadvantage of running open ended lug nuts?

Default I have McGard

I am not sure where they are producing them now-a-days! The thing to be concerned about is thread engagement always on any lug. I also am at 1/2" on my wheel studs and 3" so there is not a problem, but I do hear the cheap ones can split and crack. I like the open ones also because you can see out deep you are threaded. Mine also protrude out and look mean. I have run them for 20 plus years.

Disadvantage? The only thing I can think of is that with long studs you might want to hit the protruding threads with some WD40 on occasion. I installed McGards on my 1/2" x 3" studs circa 1982. Never a problem even after beating on them for ~30 years, and they still look pretty good too.

Thanks for the feedback. Im getting McGard 61006. I love my wheels but they are a pain in the ***, using a half inch spacer and shank nuts. Now with the longer ARPs installed I finally have more thread to engage. I just hope the open end and visible studs dont take away from the classy clean look.
