I have traced through almost everything I can think of and find.
The story so far: I just finished a full harness replacement. First there was a headlight issue, headlights didnt work, but blinkers did, so I spent an hour and a half tracking down the issue, after fixing it my blinkers stopped working.
The fuses are all good, the blinker switch is ok according to the Wilcox check guide, the hazards work, I tried replacing the blinker relay. Still nothing. I removed all the front bulbs relating to the blinkers and still nothing.
I spent 2 weeks chasing the same crap. Everything tested ok, but they didnt work. 2 weeks of playing contortionist, upside down with my head up my cars ****.... It turned out that the fuse box was the culprit. The actual clip that the fuse went in to was broken. It would connect for a continuity test due to the diameter of the probe, but not apply enough pressure when I put the fuse back in. Infuriating. Check the connection in the fuse box good and hard. Be sure to do the wiggle test. Good luck.
You did replace the blinker fasher on the passenger side of the dash and not just the hazard flasher on the drivers side right? Not sure of your year but that's the way my 74 is set up.... PO drove it for a year with out flashing blinkers because he failed to learn this.
if they worked until you fixed the headlights, 9 times out of 10 the problem is you're missing a ground or the ground isn't actually grounded (think paint, dirt, etc)
I always hate to admit stupidity on my part... but initially the blinkers worked with the key in the off position. On a whim I put the turned the key to power and.... blinkers work...

I hope someone can help me out!
Thanks!

Jay - when you said you finished a full harness replacement, what harness did you replace, dash and engine harness?
Here's my point; I replaced the engine harness on my 76 and spent a few days trying to figure out why my blinkers didn't work. I found that when I compressed the new engine harness to the existing dash harness at the firewall the tangs were not making contact to the existing dash fuse block. The reason was because there was way too much black sealant in the new fuse block which prevented the tangs from the new fuse block inserting into the old block. One of the tangs forced it's way out of the block. The fix; I removed some of the black sealant and the two halves mated properly, and the connection were made. I used a set of needle nose pliers and gently pulled on each wire tang to ensure they were not pushed back. What a nightmare.. Make sure you use rubber gloves when play around with the sealant, it'll get all over the place. I also replace both the 4 way and blinker relays. The "blinkie" blinks a lot faster which is nice. Hope this helps.
