Default no dash lights

So I had my Vette out tonight, and I can't remember the last time I did and needed to use the head lights. I knew I was going to need them, so I tested them to make sure they were wiring before I left. When it got dark and I turned them on I had no lights on the dash, illuminating the gauges. Nothing. I turned the dial to make sure they weren't turned off or aimed all the way down, and nothing. I plain on looking into it more this weekend, but thought I would ask here first. Could that fact that I had nothing be a fuse? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say its in the switch and the dimmer contact spring.

I have the same issue sometimes and if I play with the dimmer winding it back and forth I can get them to a nice bright appearance.

The head light stork also gets very hot , which I believe is a tell tale sign of the dimmer coil spring not making proper contact.
