1976 Vette I am rebuilding. I say put in a 454 that i will buy online with 510HP My brother says go with the 383 Stroker? At a later time i am going to install a blower back on the car. Need some input on which way i should go? Car originally had a 350 with a blower which blew up?
If you alredy have a blower with a small block intake. I would stick with the small block and save some bucks. But remember if you going to put a blower on it. Watch your compression ratio on the motor you go with. You don't want to put too high of compression in if your going to add a blower later. Good luck!!
Have had a hard time being happy with any small block after having a few stout big blocks. This SB probably makes more hp than any of them but nothing compares to the huge torque everywhere and efforltless part throttle acceleration like the big blocks did. They are just toooo much fun

If you are going to put a blower back on the car and it's the same blower from the 350 then stick with the SBC 355,383, or some variant of that. If is a new blower then I would say go with the BB 454 as you will enjoy the extra torque.
Also, depends on what the purpose of the car is. I believe it has been said that the BBC vettes are nose heavy and with a blower it would even be heavier, great for straight line drag racing. But, if you are after a vette with good handling in the corners then maybe a SBC is a better selection. JMHO...
