I have a problem with my driver side window and am hoping someone here has had the same problem and can share some insight.
So a while back the window regulator broke on the drivers power window and it was in the down position. I purchased a new window regulator from Corvette central and installed it. After installing the regulator the window would not roll up so I suspected the electric motor had failed as well. Therefore, I purchased a new motor and installed it.
Now the window will roll down but it will not roll up. Now, I am not sure but I suspect if electric motor will roll the window down then the motor should not be faulty.
I would suspect that maybe there is a problem with the electric window switch in that it is corroded and not functioning in the UP position. Anyone else have this problem with their car?
I just had to order a new driver side window switch. No corrosion on the switch but the internals of the switch are failing as the issue became intermittent. Window won't roll up. Good thing is a new switch is about $17.00.

Hi Frankenvette,
I have ordered a new switch and will try to replace that first before I tear into the window motor again. As you mentioned it was only $17.00 and since it is 36 years old anyways then it won't hurt to replace it and doing so will also rule out the switch as the problem even if it does not resolve the issue.
Thanks for your information, it's greatly appreciated.
Hi guys , this is most probley the appropriate thread to ask a similar question to donyue's.
My power windows are very slow, both up and down, to the point where I have to help them up and down, both work fine , just very slow, and they will generally stop with a little resistance , as they get almost to the top, when the rubbers start to touch the glass.
The battery is in good shape, and it turns the 427 over no problems, so I'm guessing its a relay or something.
The car is very original , so I'm guessing its never been played with that much.
I wouldn't have the foggiest idea what to start looking at, or testing first.

Thanks in advance for any advise offered.. Marty.
My guess it's just dried up grease in the tracks.
Problem with cleaning the tracks up is getting them out and getting everything lined up again.
I just did the drivers window motor and it woulodnt work on the motor in front of the screw theres a nut loosen it a little and it should work u can adjust it to go fast or slow the nut or bolt pushes on the screw
