1979 lost keys
I have lost my only set of keys to my 1979. Anyone have suggestions of how to get another set or should I replace the ignition switch? I am a new owner.

If you are really motivated, sometimes on the body of the lock, Chevrolet stamped the key code that a locksmith can use to recreate the key for you. Typically just four characters, some numbers and some letters. Something like 6P97. You will have to remove the lock cylinder to find it. I know, not so easy.

if you can find an old shop, g.m only made like 6 or 8 different keys and may have one that fits and then copy it. found that out when a friends key for his 69 biscayne wagon fit my 78 pace car. gave me a secure feeling too
