Wrong Harness / Alternator or BOTH?
I replaced the old front harness in my 1980 that runs from the fuse panel to the front lights, alternator, etc. I got it from a forum member that said it was the right one, but now I am wondering.... The old one looked like the following with a ground and a 'generator' wire (the red capped one)....
The new one looks like this and does not have a 'power wire' or 'batt' wire. (I realize that the ground wire is on the batt terminal in this pic and that that is wrong)
My new alternator has a single post labeled "Batt" which is what I assume my old harness's capped wire would have bolted to. Am I missing my batt charge wire with this new harness? If so is it as simple as running a wire from this directly to the battery and calling it a day?
