Now that's a real short
After rebuildind my wiper motor and finally getting it installed, I turned it on for a test run and smoke comes out from under the wiper motor.:eek:
I'm wondering why the fuse didn't blow. :confused:
If I unplug the wiper wires everything if fine.:confused:
Removed the wiper motor, run it off of the battery with some jump wires direct off of the battery. Everything works great. No smoke ,no hot wires. :)

Start unwrapping the wire harness and low and behold this is what I found. :eek:
These are the ignition wires. The red wire from the starter was the worst and must have been shorting out whenever the wiper motor was in place. The wiper motor sits over the wire harness. The other lead from the ignition switch had a Bubba solder repair. I guess he never heard of electrical tape and/or shrink wrap.
The fusible link looks intact and now the wipers work and no smoke :)
