75 vette questions
When I got my vette the previous owner has the electric fuel pump and the electric fans wired to the HEI Dist on the + side. Is this correct? So when the the key is turned the fuel pump starts and also the fans. I have a Edelbrock 1406 carb and a Jegs crate Vortec 350 5.7L 96-00 engine and was not built for mech fuel pump. Sould these be wired differently? Does any one have the same setup and how is your wired. The car also did not come with a stock fan and should has a new aluminum Radiator. Thanks for your help

Someone told me the HEI dist needs 12v all the time, and nothing should be connected to it taking voltage away from it. I think the holley elect fuel pump is having issues and was just troubleshooting and I don't want to burn anything up if it is wrong and correct it.

Yes, you need to wire that differently.
1) all those aftermarket, electric devices need to be wired via relays (one per device)
2) Never take power from the HEI hot wire - it'll reduce volt output of your HEI at best, at worst the surges will fry the module and your car won't start.
3) The fans should be wired through a temp sensor so they come on and 200 and off at 190 (or thereabouts)
On my C3, I pull power from two sources on the fuse panel to run relays. Those wires only energize the relay. I've wired a second fuse panel in the engine compartment that is always hot directly from the alternator (this isn't optimal, but I'm too lazy, and unmotivated to run a wire all the way back to the battery).

what you may find is that if your fans are running and you turn the ign. key off to shut off your engine , that ,untill the fans stop spinning , the residual current from them causes your engine to 'run on' a bit. at least it did on mine from the prev. owner

75 questions
Since I have wiring running down driver side I need to find a opening in fire wall to run wiring to fuse box. The electric fuel pump in on passenger so need to find opening for it also.

Also, if you run directly to the alternator (without a switched relay), the fan will never turn off because that lug always has power.... I'm sure you realized that - but just want to be clear
