Wire wheel look hub caps?
Hello well over the week end we picked up the wife's dream car and it had a few boxes of parts to go with it  anyway there is four or five of these caps are they worth anything? do any of you wnat them? I did not see any GM number on them but i found this pic on e-bay and i think that is what I have. Any help is welcomed.
They are original equipment on 68-? Vettes, and good ones are getting hard to find. If your vette came with them, I'd definitely keep them. It would show up on the build sheet if it's still on the tank. They were routinely discarded for aftermarket wheels (as were many original type wheels) in the early '70's, so you have a rare find. I don't know this for sure, but I think they had rallye wheels under them without the trim rings and caps. Do we get to see any pic's of the car? Lucky girl....

Re: Wire wheel look hub caps? (Wrencher)
Sure Hans but you might not like the car :reddevil It has been her dream to have a RS for some time now. Back to the caps for a second or two, will they have a number on them anywhere??? I don't need them as you can see in the pictures. I have some rallys that also came with the car but are the 70ish six hole thingies  Anybody want them.
Whoops, maybe bad news. A closer look at the pics might tell me that the center emblem caps are flat, as they were on monte carlos, chevelles with this type hubcap
The vettes had a specific center cap, which protruded slightly outwards with a noticable lip. These appear to be flat, which would make them non vette specific hubcaps

Re: Wire wheel look hub caps? (MELVIN)
MELVIN those caps are not mine. That is just a picture of a cap from e-bay. I did not know what to look for so I went to e-bay. What should I look for if they are real corvette caps?????????? If they are not what are they worth. I don't need much for them I just want to cut some of the clutter that came with the camaro. Thanks.
To a 'Vette owner looking for real PO1 or PO2 covers, a cover with the flat center emblem ring are vitrually worthless. New centers cost about $50.00 per so that would put you at $200.00 plus the price of the covers (not including the Ebay required shipping and handling). If the covers are with the raised center, then anywhere from $100 to $400 depending on condition. Problem with trying to evaluate a "fair" price for them on Ebay is that a lot of folks selling these covers on Ebay don't know the difference between the Corvette and the "all others" covers and they many times don't sell. It must be puzzling to them that such a rare and "unique" part draws little to no interest.

Re: Wire wheel look hub caps? (gerry72)
Thanks to you all I will try to examine what I have. I don't do the e-bay thing so I was not really looking to sell there. I just went there for the info  Like I said even if they are corvette caps I would be fair with them.
