I have a stock ZZ4 with 3.36 gears/4-speed and pull a 13.4@106 in the 1/4 (probally do better with more practice only been to the track once). Don't know what my 0-60 time is but it is quick. Its got to be 5 seconds or faster.
John
Aww man, don't tease me like that! :) What kind of #'s will yours pull?
Honestly, I have never ran it throught yet. I can tell you it takes no time to push it to 128mph. :D :yesnod: And that was thrilling and scary all at the same time.
I got 13.806 @ 100.11 mph my first and only time out to the track...I have th350 and 3.08 rear end...but im sure theres more in it, i know my launches and shift points could have been better, i think i can go to the track 1 more time...ill let u know if any improvement...
With the Hot Cam kit, full headers, 4-speed T10 and 3.36 I did the 1/4 mile in 12.98 sec. I think I hit 60 in ~ 4.8 sec according to my friends G-Tech. Traction, weight and suspension setup make alot of difference beyond that of gears so you will probably see a wide array of times.
I have never run mine yet but based on other cars I have driven, I would guess low to mid 12s for mine. Mine includes ported/polished edelbrock 6085 heads, H.O.T. cam (.218/228 - .525/.525), GM 1.6 rockers, Hedman headers w/2 1/2" duals, 3.70 gears and edelbrock ProFlo EFI. I don't have the fuel maps set right yet but when I nail it in first gear it is up against the rev limiter at 6500 almost before I can shift to second. Our local track (Southwestern International Raceway - SIR) will kick me off the track after a run less than 14.0 because I have a convertable and no roll bar. When I get everything just right, I will go there just to get kicked off but I will have a time slip!!
Here is one way to comapre. The 69 L46 was 350ci/350hp. The ZZ4 is 350ci/355hp. Both are gross hp ratings. Just find a road test of the L46 and you should have your answer. Check out the Corvette Archives for tests ( http://www.corvettearchive.com )

tom...
Yes... but the 69 L46 only had 310 or something (???) torque. The ZZ4 has more than 400. They wont yeild an accurate comparrison. I believe in stock trim the 69 L48 runs mid 14's if I'm not mistaken...

L46 was 380 torque and the ZZ4 is 405. ZZ4 has 5 hp and 25 lbs/ft more torque. So factor those numbers in.
Here we go again
The GM crate engines are rated GROSS hp. Think about it - how can you rate a crate engine "net" which means with all accessories attached.
BUT, even if you tell me both engines are rated gross hp, I am pretty sure a ZZ4 will be significantly faster than an L46.
(maybe, maybe not.... road tests from 1969 are not a good measure because they are running bias ply tires)
But here is the real answer to how fast it is:
1. Faster than stock
2. Really fast when you first get it
3. After a while, not fast enough!!
