Default 74 with a BUBBA carb connector???

Did I just find another bubba on my Q-JET?

The fitting on the bottom of the carb looks like a air-tool fitting. Is this correct?

Anyone have any pics of theirs?

I want to make this as perfect as I can before putting it back on the car.

That is a airline fitting. Should have a fitting on there that will accept the hose that comes from your brake booster.

Your local auto parts store should have the correct adapter needed there.

Mine has a hard line from there to the plastic filter(?) that is inline to the brake booster. Rubber hose from the canister to the booster.

That 78 bracket looks like it would work for my 74.

By spreading the bracket over the rear carb mounts the throttle cable would not slide around when pressed, which is my problem right now.

The correct throttle bracket is held by a locating pin and both rear carb mounting bolts. A PO cut yours off, for some unknown reason.

Yep, so I have to 'bubba' my own now.
Looking for something with a pin to modify like the one in the picture.
Can't seem to find a replacement bracket. Would be nice to find a shiny new one..lol

I use the largest drill bit that fits. My car's previous owner likely did not do it, but one of the idiot mechanics she had work on the car likely did.

Here's the bracket on my 74 350 W PB:

Here's an extra bracket:

I don't have the carb to hose fitting.
PM me if you want to buy the bracket.

A bead blast or some wire brushing, and some rattle-can spray paint, and it'll look brand-new!

That air tool fitting in the carb is hilarious!

The reason Bubba put it there is so you can hook up an air hose on the side of the road to make repairs easier.

Summit, Jegs, Lokar, eBay all have throttle brackets for the Rochester carb. Just a google away.

Summit has nothing for a 74, Jegs has some weird looking brackets that I cannot recognize.
I found one on ebay for a "quadra jet 4bbl", but it looks like it may have issues on the one side.

I have decided to purchasing the extra bracket from Pete. As soon as it gets here I will sand it down and paint it before installing it.

Oh and btw, for some reason the PO moved the correct connector tube onto a secondary manifold port facing up instead of back (as it would on the carb).
So I have the tube, it was just in the wrong place.

I wonder if the vacuum coming from the base of the carb is any different than the one on the manifold.

Both those ports are manifold vacuum.
