I have an L82 in my 81' with hooker supercomp side pipes, Holley Carb and Edelbrock Performer rpm intake. Im looking to do a head, cam and hydraulic roller lifer swap. Im thinking about this kit I found from Trick Flow at Summit Racing:
anyone used this kit or have any recommendations? Im looking to be 500hp or more at the flywheel. I already have 3.73 rear end gears though a T10 and some other supporting mods.
id pick out a cam only package, you have pretty much the same thing now, just remember dont build a prostock car for the street,,too big a cam/heads will wreck your street car
I agree with dmax. 246@.050" will need 10.5 to 1 or better compression not to be sluggish off the line, even though you've got the gearing. If you look at this same combo in the summit magazine it says that the 500 horse results were achieved on a 383. 500 horse I'd recommend a 383 and afr heads with a roller cam or forced induction.
