Sorry a newbie here just wanted to reach out for help. The passenger taillight on my 1978 stays bright like the brakes are being pressed and the turn signal does not work on that one as well all the other lights are functioning like normal?? Please can anyone point me in the right direction I bought new bulbs and installed them as well Thanks Joe!!!
- The correct bulbs have little pins on the side that are offset from each other and are supposed to allow them to be installed one way only. Sometimes, they are forced in the wrong way and thus the 'stop/turn light' terminal on the bulb will touch the 'running light' terminal of the socket, staying bright all the time. When you use the turn signal, it will actually cause the other filament to light up, but since it is dimmer than the stop light, you don't notice that it is on. Anyway, the socket may have been "boogered" in the past and allow the bulb to be installed wrong.
- (More Obvious) The stop bulb is a 1157 not an 1156. The wrong bulb will act like that also.
This is the simple stuff. If none of the above applies, good luck.
