Ok update: Took the IAC's off both TBI's and checked the distance to the Pintle point both where at 1 1/8 then reinstalled them. Took the EGR solenoid relay done some repairs then reinstalled. Car started idled at about 1000 rpm. Does not seem to be putting out the black smoke as it has before. Once it warmed up idled down to 500 then about 300rpm where it would die. I'm guessing a drive would probably clear this up. Making progress

take it for at least a 10 mile drive and stay above 30mph if possible to reset the IAC's, just idling at a stop will not do it. even though the Shop Manual has the idle @450 rpm's in "D", most of us idle @600-650 rpm's in "D" and slightly higher in "P" or "N". hopefully the idle will come up after you reset the IAC's from the drive. if not, I would recheck the TPS setting and the ignition module, check the "sticky" for info on lubing the module.

again, what is your spray from the injectors looking like at idle and a slight rpm increase????

The spray at idle is a fan when you increase the rpm it goes to more of a smaller spray. I took a video can those be uploaded to this forum?

I must be getting old, I know mine are a umbrella type (fan) spray and when I increase the idle, can't remember if it gets bigger or smaller...
see what happens when you get older.......

Yes there is a way to upload videos, I am not up on that, but I know how to upload pics.......

are you still dropping to 300 r's and stalling????
do you go for a ride yet to reset the IAC's????

Have not taken it on the road since it's not tagged, plan on getting a temporary one soon.
The rpm's is still dropping when it warms up going down to about 3-4 rpm's then dies. I understand the older part for sure.Do you go into Facebook I know I can put a video there?

Do yoou mean the electric fan, if so I would say yes except I believe the fan switch is rated at 239 deg if it's stock. that's getting extremely hot for just idle...

I am assuming that you are referring to the spray pattern of the injectors????
If you are, then that is not normal, you are experiencing some type of fuel problem.
could be the injectors, a fuel pressure problem, etc., you need to start from the beginning and eliminate one possible problem at a time.
sounding like a broken record once again.....use the "sticky" a Shop Manual, etc., to guide you through the process......

Yes referring to the injectors. And have been using the sticky's they are very useful along with the books.
