C3 speedo not working

C3 speedo not working
I'm positive it's the gears in the tail shaft of the tranny. Just have to figure out what gear. I'm hoping for the colored one so I dont have to pull the tail shaft. But I have a couple questions so when I dig in I have what I need to fix it.
The speedo worked fine with the BW Super T10. I pulled it and installed a Doug Nash 4+1 and now it works here & there but is jumpy when it does. It was jumpy but worked every time at first then faded off to a here and there working. If I drive 'normally' it will never work. If I hammer the crap out of it ... it works until I stop then back to step one lol. But when it's working it's way off in the slow direction so it's not the right gear anyway (reads 45 when doing 70). The cable end is still square , as far as the rest I cant see it.
Question is... are the gears in the T10 the same as the gears in the Nash as far as fitment? If so I have what I need already but it sounds way to simple for me.
I'm not all that concerned with it as I have a GPS speedo in it as the stocker cut's me off at 85 (1980) but none the less it would be nice if it worked.
