accel spark plugs any one running them
what is the gap on these I set them at .035 and the motor floods at start.it never did that until I changed to accel plugs.is the gap larger on these?
As I put fewer than 4K miles on my C3 annually, I run AC R45TS set at .045 gap. I've even cleaned and re-gapped my plugs without any issues. The car does not get driven hard.
My brother always ran Accel religiously with his performance engine's Accell coil ignition. Not sure he ever saw a performance advantage; just trusted the brand.

Well, now that you've already bought them, don't throw them away, there's nothing wrong with them, per say. It's just that they are awful expensive for what is essentially just a regular, plain old spark plug that is yellow.
Regarding your problem, anytime someone changes plugs and then has a problem of almost any kind, my first instinct is to verify the firing order. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Have a set of Accel shorties in mine with Accel Wires & points, gaped at .035. Haven't run into any problems. Which ones are you using?

You need to read this if you haven't already....

Auto lite does the same thing now that Honeywell bought the name... they have plugs made by other companies under license with them in tawain china and mexico ....I once bought a set of 4 identical part # plugs for my old VW kit car and the plugs looked different... upon inspection 3 came from different countries... and none were the USA like the old ones I pulled out......
Its OK though because Honeywell is an American company right? Tell that to the laid off fram and autolite guys.
I'd rather buy Chinese from the Chinese than marked up and sold to me under false pretenses by an American middleman. Sorry....dismounting soapbox.

other than that, there is no particular advantage....
BTDT.....
I'm not sure where you got that... if you had read the link I posted I think it explains that because it was the first year GM used the hei system they learned the large .060 caused premature failure in the distributor rotor so they changed the specs after 75.... the 75 L82 was rated at 205 HP.... the 74 L48 was rated at 195.... 75 was 165 I don't thing the L82 cam changed as the HP drops are pretty consistent between both from the cat and whatever other emissions related restrictions.

You may be using the wrong plug, according to Accel's website you need their 0763 plug with .750 reach.
I ran through their application look up using your 75 as the car
