My passenger window stopped working in a way that I believe it was caused by the switch wearing out. I ordered a new one, and one of the contact posts is about twice as long as the original. Has anyone replaced on of these before, and dealt with this situation? I'm not sure if I need to cut it down, or make some other adjustment first. Thanks in advance!
I have heard that you can take apart the old switch and work them over, they are better than the replacement switches. I also have read that the new switches have problems and don't last long.

True, a replacement "new" switch for my passenger side lasted about a month. At first, I didn't suspect the switch because it was new (China), after wasting a lot of time, I checked the switch and replaced it with a good used one and no problems on the passenger side since then.
