I noticed after I got my A/C charged that my heat no longer works? I don't want to mess with it cause.. well.. I don't want heat this time of year.. Just bugs me when something doesn't work.. Does the inline heater vacuum valve always run "on" meaning it always allows hot water to flow and when vacuum is removed it closes.. or the other way around where it's always closed and when put on heat the vacuum will open the valve. It's an easy test I guess by just removing the vacuum line from the switch with the car running in hot and cold to see what happens BUT I can cool the car down now.... not sure if it's because of the new R134a system or cause there's no heat leaking in.. but I like it.. just want to know what's broken.
Heater control valve is normally open - requires vacuum to close. Most folks can't get it to stop working so you're problem sounds unique. Valve may have rusted shut.

Yep, that's right, in fact, on some vettes you'll find that A/C is working fine, then wants to blow warmer or even hot air during hard acceleration, and this happens because of loss of engine vacuum during wide open throttle hard acceleration periods results in this vacuum operated heater control valve opening up.
