ok, i have redone my rear brakes. bled them and made sure there was no air. my pedal still goes soft on me. but not all the time. only when i let off the pressure and then reaply it gently. at this point th epedal goes right to the floor  . last week, the rear compartment of the master cylinder was empty. correct me if i'm wrong but the rear compartment feeds only the rear brakes right? but yet i have no leak at the rear brake calipers. but i did find a leak or a sweat, at the front calipers. but the front compartment of he master cylinder is full. so please explain to me what could be the problem!!!! could the master cylinder have a faulty seal and is leaking?
Did you re-tighten your bleeder screws? Did you somehow cross-thread them or overtorque them?
Do you see fluid on the inside of your rear wheels/tires?
Have you pulled the MC to see whether fluid is getting out if it and into your booster (if you have power brakes.)
Has your brake warning light come on?
1.no i did not evertighten
2.no fluid on inner wheel at rear
3.no, i have not pulled it off but will soon
4the light has come on now that the res. is empty. also cames on once my pedal hits the rug!!
Actually Rod the resovoir closest to the brake booster is for the rear wheels. ( inside the master cyl.) the primary piston assembly is what the brake pedal rod pushes on, that inturn is connected to the secondary piston. Both lines go to the proportinator valve. But for an simplistic answer when you bleed the rear brakes the rear (closest to booster) resovoir will be the only one to go down. I would do a full bleed before changing the master cyl. It is cheaper to get a New master cyl than to buy a rebuild kit. Can Tire sell new Wagners cheap.
