And to make matters worse, the switch was inside the steering column. So before I tore into the column... I would go to the lower part of the steering column and make sure the wires are plugged in properly.
If yes to the above, I would test the motor first to see that it is working. You can either remove the motor from the car... or test with the motor in the car. If you test in the car it is very important to make sure you have all wires removed from the motor.... Including the ground. Before you start testing remove the bell crank nut from the wiper linkage so you don't dry wipe your windshield. Then follow along with the video and it will show you how to test the motor.

i checked the wiring on my motor, one plug with 3 wires, green, yellow and black, then another single plug with a black wire. could you tell me how to bench check this one compared to the one in the video?
