Hi again folks. My 78 is having an issue with the driver's side headlight not opening and closing because there is no gap between the light assembly and the front clip. It is rubbing. If I push on the middle of the front clip, the light will go up and down fine because it allows the correct amount of space.
My question is, how do I adjust the headlight assembly to fit correctly to open and close?
Post a pic. I looked at your pics of the car in the other thread, but cannot see much concerning the headlight. "Front clip" is vague since it includes the entire nose from door around to the other door. What you are referring to is the hood surround panel.
Have you ordered the assembly instruction manual for your 78?

Take a look at the header bar. This is the v-shaped steel channel that is bonded to the front clip, and to which the headlight assemblies bolt at 3 places per side. If it has rusted and swelled, it will push your headlight assemblies out of alignment and the headlights will bind going up and coming down.
