Well now that the experts have spoken I'm going to Assume that this fell out of something else as I was taking things apart on the interior.... I have the center gauge/radio/ac bezel out along with the speedo tach assays.... the part does not look as if it had anything broken off of it bit I will leave it out and see where else it may fit later on.....the only thing else I can brainstorm is that it could be part of the factory alarm but in my car the key cylinder in the rear sail.panel has. Been shaved so who knows....but thanks again for the help and gives a shop teacher a lot more confidence to finally get the column back together!

I think it's from the vacuum valve on the headlight switch. I just changed the switch out on my 77 because the tab on the slider was broken off. I just went out and looked, but unfortunatly I threw it out and the garbage man came yesterday.
