Default How to remove 1980 wiper/washer switch

How does the wiper washer switch get removed? I have the bezel off but the switch will only come part way out.

I need to access the wires on the switch harness to continue my interior lights trouble shooting

Any help is greatly appreciated. Hopefully that service manual will arrive soon

Bad news is you have to remove speedo unit, to do that you have to remove steering wheel, sounds tragic but isnt really. Once you have the speedo out the switch has one bolt at the top holding it in, then it tilts back towards engine and lifts out of a lug that holds the bottom of the switch in place. use a small mirror and a torch to see the back easier, pretty easy to do once you get the general idea of how it sits in there.

I had that very thought tonight... "I bet I could get it if I pull the speedo"

I will try that on the weekend, hopefully my broken wire is in there.

Thanks Aussie79
