I have 78 4 speed and a new clutch with 12k miles on it. It seems to be hard/heavy to disengage and grabs when the engine gets warm. First thing when the engine is cold, the clutch works great.
what brand and part# clutch did you install? is the clutch correctly adjusted, using a ruller and pushing the pedal down with your fingers, how many inches does it move before it stops, should be about 1 1/2"

NAPA, 10 1/2" Clutch Kit. Do not know the part number, had it installed by local auto shop. They had to reinstall the clutch twice because the flywheel was machined wrong the first time, too much run-out.
I will have to check the clutch pedal engagement tonite or sunday.
I have asked the auto shop to give me the NAPA part number with no reply. Guess I need a new shop.
I adjusted the clutch pedal per Wilcox last night, there is 1.5" of pedal travel before the clutch it starts to disengage. Went to Vette's at the beach about 70 miles round trip and there is a change for the better. With the rain the engine was very cool, I am hopping for a hot day this week to test it.
Thanks for the advice.
