I have a '69 that obviously has a checkered past--it was raced and a number of the vacuum hoses are cut/blocked or missing and the wiring harness has some loose ends too. Issues include: nothing is connected to the wiper door, the headlights are stuck open, etc. Does anyone know of a mechanic in the Northern VA area that would know enough about the C3 to install a complete vacuum hose kit and debug the vacuum system?
OK thanks, I think I have a kit by Dr Rebuild or something..what would really help is a correct 69 side by side..The diagrams I have show the basic circuit and even color stripe coding, but knowing some things are missing ( how hoses are routed), not knowing what cut hoses were supposed to be for headlights, wipers, or other vacuum crap, and not knowing what mods were made to this car in the past, you need a little more.

How far are from Chantilly? There's a shop called Curry's auto service (703.502.0400) that does good jobs on C3 vettes. They also have shop in Fairfax, Va as well.
Contact Damon, who is service manager. He's a good guy and loves classic cars. You can even swing by there on Saturday morning and just chit chat about your car and talk about what needs to be done.
I thinking about joining the vette club so if you do, let me know how it is.
great lead..I will contact Damon..I am very close to Chantilly. I looked up the northern Va Corvette club. Membership is a little interesting as you have to attend a couple meetings in the first 4 months to get considered for admittion..I guess I understand wanting participation, but that seems a little funny. I was a member back in the early 70's when I had a couple C2 big blocks..it was a good thing then.

I've been to the shop few times. They have a very nice garage and setup. You'll like Damon. You're not that far from me either.
I guess I'm lucky in terms of getting my C3 worked on. I have few chevy/ford muscle car owners on my street and these guys are just about good as any mechanics. We help each other if something needs to be fixed. Older fellas with years of experience and I'm fortunate to have them as neighbors.
I thought about joining the club but the meeting is the one that's holding me back.
