The compression is 9.7 to 1, and yes you can install 3" through the crossmember with no modifications to it, its tight but fits with no rattles at all. Are you running stock 69 side exhaust? My car had stock side exhaust and I wanted to put it back on but its way to restictive for this motor. Fuel line is easy, I left the stock line in place and just ran aeroquip 8n black hose from tank to carb along the passengerside fram rail. My next purchase will be a 5 speed, looking at the Legend 700 from Keisler, Let me know if you have any other question on your build thanks David

I'm going to run Hooker 2 1/8 primary with 4" collectors and side pipes. I took the advice of the guys at Summit racing as to which muffler insert is least restrictive. I think I went a little overkill but at least she won't be choked off. I really considered under the car exhaust, it was a tough decision.
I'm impressed with your HP numbers, my CR is 10.2:1 and I have the AFR heads, dyno'ed 697 hp. Mostly wanted the aluminum heads for the weight savings and the cooling, it's amazing what Mark does with the stock heads!
Ajrothm is running the stock fuel line, I think he says he feels like it is fuel starved by the end of the 1/4 mile. I'm copying as much of his setup as I can, but as you know he's running an automatic and the crossmember situation is different.
Did you modify the tank to supply the 3/8" fuel line?
I'm putting a Tom's 12 bolt setup in the rear with the 1480 kit, offset trailing arms etc.
I copied and listened to everything Alan told me, he has been so helpful. I did modify my stock sending unit by removing the 3/8 pipe and adding a 1/2 pipe with a fitting on the end for the 8n hose, then brazing it, then tach welding the stock sender to the new pipe, works and looks factory
If you're considering a 5 speed swap you should check out Liberty gears version of the tko 600. they build them a couple different ways to handle more power, abuse, and improved shifting over stock tko 600s. I went with their faceplatted/pro shift HD tko 600 with all the options to improve strenght. Its one of the best upgrades Ive done on the car. It shifts nice on the street for normal driving, handles hard launches at the strip, built to be power shifted at high rpms, but has the OD for easy highway cruising. Cost me around $3,000 with a short throw pro 5.0 shifter. My buddy runs the same Liberty trans as me in a nitrous SBF 89 coupe mustang and he runs 9.40s with it.
This isnt a direction corvette kit but easy to make work. Just giving you another option to check out.
Thanks L82kid for the info I will be looking into it, how long did it take to get yours?

Will they do the upgrades on an existing tko 600? I've already bought mine, wanted an install without modifications. I've read that it's pretty tough to break the tko, there's a fairly good margin of safety but of course have read about the 2-3 shift issues. I'm about 700 ft-lbs through a lot of the power band but for mostly street driving the tires will be the stress breaker...

Liberty gears also does rebuilds, upgrades, and mods on TKO 500/600s. You would probably have to call, ask questions, and get a quote.
heres the website, they sell race prepped t56 and other 5/6speeds as well.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.

L-82kid what exactly did you have to do to install it in your vette?
