Default 1971 Corvette valve guide question.

Hey Guys,
Yep, me again!! Well, thanks to you all, all the other problems have been sorted and the Vette is doing great and my wife is having a blast!! Now, hopefully last question to bother you all with!! The vette has an LS5 crate motor that per dyno is putting out 440 at the motor, and 340 at the rear wheels. It supposedly has 2500 miles on it, but at start up, it puts out blue smoke til she warms up then no smoke period! Sooo, valve guides Im guessing? She has roller rockers. Do you all think that the motor could have those kind of low miles and the fuel of today ate the valve guides up that quick?? No, me neither! Now, question, what do you all think will be the price of having new valve guides put into the heads, and thats with me taking them off and putting them back on of course?? Thanks again my friends, you all have been awesome!!! JB

2,500 miles should,be enough to "seat" everything.

How many miles per quart of oil? Anything less than a thousand miles per, quart is excessive in my opinion.

If more than 1 qt. per 1K miles, start diagnostic testing, compression, leakdown, vacuum leaks, etc. check valve stem seals.

Good luck,
Pete
