Default 73 vacuum line help

I'm in the process of installing new vacuum lines on the 73 project car. (I bought it in pieces). I have some photos of other cars and I see a vacuum hose coming off the left front of the Q-jet, then going to the rear of the engine compartment and goes toward the left fender over the rear of the booster with 4 other hoses. Can someone please tell me where this goes to. Thanks, Craig

I goes to the evaporator canister that is located under your windshied washer reserve. There are three hoses that connect to this canister.

Hope this helps

Terry, thanks for the info. I have the larger hoses on the cannister but must have overlooked the little one. I'll check it out in the morning. Craig :chevy

OK, I'm still perplexed. I have two ports on the top of the cannister. They are both pretty large. I have one going to the PCV and one going to the line to the fuel tank. On the bottom there is a large one that looks like it would be a drain, so I still don't know where to hook up the small one from the carb. My assembly manual does not show L48 so any help would be greatly appreciated. Craig

Mine has three connections on the the top. The nozzle on the bottom is a drain and nothing hooks to it. of the three on top one goes to the gas tank. The second large one goes to the PCV valve and the third and smaller connection does to the carb on the front drivers side. this two connections have the hoses run together up to the carb. I believe the smaller line actuators the valve in the top of the canister to pull the PCV vapors into the canister or pull the fumes from the gas tank into the carb.
In my AIM page 329 while stating for a LS4 it is similiar for the 350. Page 331 shows the gas tank vent line.
Roger

Roger, thanks much for the information. Someone must have changed the cannister on this car. I'll take another look at the AIM and try to figure out what to do with the small hose. Craig

Roger is setting you straight :yesnod:

There are three connections on the top of the vapor canister. One small one on the actual lid itself (this is the one that goes to the carb), a slightly larger one just next to the lid (goes to PCV), and a much larger one in the center (goes to fuel line)

I still have 3 connections on mine. I know because I had it out painting it when you posted.

Okay, now I understand. The lid was missing so I didn't see where to put the small hose. I found the lid in a box of misc. parts so I should be good to go. Thanks for all the help. Craig :seeya

Under the lid goes a rubber diaphragm and a spring.

Roger, It's always something. Does anyone know where I could get the diaphragm and spring? I don't seem to have those. Thanks, Craig :chevy
