Steve, Thanks for doing the video. It's damn cool !! Hopefully, I'll get my clutch linkage and shifter probelms worked out soon so we can have even more fun bangin gears :smash: :smash:
OK, now for the explination of the very short first video. I'm having a problem with the centering springs on my Long shifter for the 5 speed. It makes banging third gear a bit of a challenge, since the uneven spring pessure of the shifter makes it want to go back into 1st ,and if I over compensate, it will end up in 5th :cuss To make a long story short, I lost my cool when it did it again and used some language not suitable for the forum :bb :bb :bb The second video shows how tough it is to get into third gear. Looks like I have another project for next weekend :yesnod: :yesnod:
I know what you mean with the 3rd gear shift. What trans do you have?
Paul
I have the Richmond 5 speed. The tranny and Long shifter have worked very well, but the broken spring in the shifter is something I've been fighting for 6 months now. I called Long last week and they are sending me replacement springs for free :) That will take care of that problem. Then I just have to fix my clutch linkage :( The frame braket for the bellcrank(Z bar) keeps bending. This is most likely caused by the stronger than average pressure plate I use. The additional stress to the linkage seems to be too much for the braket on the frame. As it is now, I'm having trouble getting into 1st,3rd, and 5th.
Very  Good work guys. We'll have to hook up one of these weekends again. Aside from some header tick-tick-tick I gott lick, mine's mobile and ready for action! :)
I wanna video of mine! ;) Though mine's not nearly as nice looking as Tom's. BTW, Tom, I have been meaning to ask where you got yours painted. (at least it looks freshly painted).
thanks for the vids.

Thanks Terry  I had mine painted by Ray Schiro at Corvettes only on Lafayette. Believe it ot not, it was painted 14 years ago. The place is no longer there. I think he retired or maybe worse :( :blueangel:
Bill White at Bill White's Glassworks in Santa Clara is the guy to talk to now, but I hope you're not in a hurry to get it painted. Ask Chuck Harmon about that? He has been waiting for about a year now.
Yeah, we'll have to set up some sort of get together . You're always welcome to come hang out and bench race in my driveway. A half dozen Corvettes in front of my house should make for a good picture :yesnod:
Tom - At what rpm to you generally shift and what's your red line? I need to get someone with a sound camera and make a few videos. I'm going to have on all new tires for the Laguna Seca Corvette Corral. So I can go ahead and waste what I have left of these.
George, Redline is about 6400. I usually shift about 5700. On the first video, I think I ran it to about 5700. On the second video, I probably reved to around 5500 in first and second, and then ran third to only 4500.
