Hi everyone, I will start with what I have. 1980 C3, SB 350, weiand 142 supercharger, Methonal injection, 700R4 w/TCI streetfighter VB. Motor is built to make approx 500hp (guess no dyno runs yet). Suspension is stock, brakes are stock. Most driving is straight line and I stay below 110 MPH. Car gets sideways fast and will do so from 1st to 2nd. Rear end is a limited slip with 3:73's. Looking for suspension mods that will help basic handling under conditions described. I am looking at 6 link and steeroids. Also looking at wilwood calipers and rotors. Comments on bushing kits and spring upgrades too. Just looking for some suggestions from forum members. This is my first vette and you all have years of experience. My goal is to tighten up braking and handling. The car has many new OEM parts so its not sloppy. Just handles like a 1980 vette with a beast of a motor. Also understand there are limitations based on cars design and of course my bank account. Thanks in advance.
Since it sounds as though You are mostly interested in straight line acceleration I wouldn't get to caried away changing things. I would rebuild what you have now. As old as the Car is we need to assume that Bushings etc are tired. I'd plan on removeing the Trailing Arms and having a look at those Bushings. Then You can decide on using Poly to replace them or not. If the Brakes on your car are in good shape they will do fine. The bigger aftermarket ones will accel on the road race track. When doing the front end a Rack will give the car a feeling of a more modern car, if its sloppy now a small adjustment on the steering box might make a big diffrence, along with the usual suspension rebuild.
I have been through three rears since supercharged, you are running close to what I am.too much hp for stock rear.toms has a good bullet proof rear for our cars, pricey though, but worth it.when ever I get extra money to spend I will fix that problem.i don't step on it anymore from the start

Billy, can you tell us more? Were your rear-ends completely stock? Did you have any up-grades for strength (billet bearing housing, polished posi case, etc.)? What "went" and under what conditions. Sorry for the hi-jack>
