Alternator charging question

I just installed a New Alternator and Battery in my 82 because my battery kept going dead and would not charge. The problem is it still wont charge after the new alt and Batt. any ideas of what could be causing this? I'm lost....thanks for any help

First turn the key on and use a test light, see if you have power on all 3 terminals at the alternator.

What size alternator, make sure it meets your demand for current? I just went through a similar deal.

which terminals? it has a wire that goes to the back of the alt and then a two wire plug that connects to the side and then one yellow wire. Should every wire going to it be hot? thanks

Are you sure the one you installed is good. I say that because I have bought replacement alt before and they were bad right from the get go. Do you have a multimeter or a battery tester so you can see what voltage at the battery while it is running?
