thats the one I have, it will work but won't reach from the nose of the car, you have to go in from the side. I would get a set of wheel dollies and put the car on them first, that way when you lift the motor you can just push the car out from under it sideways.
I also used it to pull the body off the frame as well. I've had one for years and have pulled many motors with it, it's just now starting to have issues with the hydraulic pump for the lift cylinder where it takes ALOT of pumps to lift it.
I have one too...as everyone else said, go from the side.
I will say if you plan on using a leveler DO NOT buy the one they have there!!!!!! I used it one time and as soon as I got some angle on it the rear plate that holds the chains snapped! Luckily it was past the fender and over the engine bay and the front chains held. The trans ( a 4sp M21) was attached and was almost in position, so the tail only dropped few inches till it hit the wood blocks I had on the jack.
I got really llllllucky back in '97, went to rent a hook, and so found a rental place being bought out, and so bought a hook that knocks down to a little cart with the 5' steel storing vertically, sets on about 2' sq of garage space, stupid thing can lift an entire SUV.....150 bux, I spent....goes in on the nose of my 72 and not even close....
It will work, best to go in from the side, instead of the front, if your pulling a big block you might want to pull the heads off first.

Definitely go in from the side. You can leave the hood on (not disturb the hood alignment) and not touch the radiator. You can leave the heads on, even with a big block. Unfortunately, I know. I've been practicing...427=> 468 => 540.
Thanks for the replies. I saw a coupon on Ebay for this crane for $99.95 and I knew I could probably find the code # with a little searching. 83087728. Of course my HF didn't have one in stock and wouldn't have any in until after the coupon expired so I just ordered it online for only an extra $6.99 Fedex shipping. That's a win win in my book! Normally this crane is $229.95 and it's sale price is $184.95 so $99 is a pretty good deal if anybody else needs one.

The picker worked fine though.
HF has two models of load levelers, a 3/4 ton and a 2 ton, which one do you have (that failed)?
They have in the past 2 years really boosted the prices of the cranes. I bought the 2 ton unit with a Super coupon and remember getting a real good deal. Delivery to the house was something like $16 wile other places wanted $100 bucks or so. It helped that I had the whole front end off.

I have the same exact one and have lifted the body off my Camino off/on numerous times no problems. Its actually (jinks!) decent. The fact it folds up makes it a keeper not too heavy either .

I have the Big Red version of the same crane. The nice thing about it is that, since you have to go in from the side, the wheels pivot allowing you to move it sideways. I used it to install my engine and trans as one unit, by myself.
I pulled mine with a borrowed 1 ton unit. I bought a HF 2 ton unit when it was time to go back in. World of difference, buy the 2 ton unit. Or borrow one. The extra reach made it a lot less stressful and the unit is solid. Dave
