Default L-98 Oil Temp Sensor threads

OK, so I just opened this CF account, let's see how it works. I am in the process of installing an ATK 383 HP55C into my C3 and need a few plumbing mods. I've moved the oil pressure sender to the top of the block because the port by the oil filter is tapped for a temp sensor. I want to plug that since my '77 has no oil temp gauge but I can't find a proper fitting NPT plug or fitting to fill the hole. Thread seems to be a coarse 7/16-14 but can't be sure as it's tapered. I could just buy a sensor to fill the hole but most seem to have a finer thread and I don't know what vehicle this block came from. Any tips on thread identification and what to fill it with?

Should be a standard 1/4" pipe plug.
Nothing 'special' here.
