Default Qjet needs choke!

In my '73 I have a replacement crate 350 engine. Probably a 1979-1982 according to the parts I have replaced. Just put the engine and tranny back in and I realized that there is no choke system. The engine came with an Eldelbrock 600 that was sucking up gas faster than I traveled so I went with an original '73 Qjet that I bought and had rebuilt. The manifold has a climate choke plate and it lies flat to the manifold whereas the '73 manifold is on a 45 degrees angle. Bought an electric choke and it has no instructions nor connecting set up. So where do I hook and mount this thing? I know all about the electric hookup so I don't need that advice. no mounting bracket at all. No rod either. Help! I really do not want to put a hand choke on it either

Its not easy to explain but your old choke rod comes off and the electric choke rod is different. Then it screws to the carb body if your carb can accept the electric choke hardware. If you google Q jet choke on google image, you'll see everything.

I'm not sure if 73 Q jet has the correct body for an electric choke to screw too. Good luck

Unless you drive in the winter you don't need a choke.

I don't think any of the Corvette applications offered an integral choke on the 4M Quadrajets (used through 74). 75+ (M4Ms) will have an integral hot air choke, with electric chokes popping up in 1980 and 81 on the E4M apps. (not sure if 80 M4Ms got an E choke)
