Default Anyone using these spacers for their monospring?

Im talking about these vertical front/back spacers that come stock with the 9 leaf.

Wondering if I should use these with the new VBP spring. The fit is pretty tight, not sure if they would even fit....

My VBP 360 spring has been on the car SINCE 1986 and yes I did put those spacers in with the spring back then-just peeked under the car for a look.

My VBP 360 spring came with it's own spacers....one of which is about 3/4" thick, the others are thinner.....but I bought mine in '95.....

No, those spacers are only for 78-79 when using the 2 1/4 Gymkana spring in a stock 2 1/2 rear cover.

That's probably what I did in 1986 as well. My spacers probably came with the spring and yes one is bigger than the other as you described.

I think you guys might be thinking of the other spacers.....

Look at this link, item# 13023K. These are the ones I am asking about. No way in hell these would be 3/4"

Yep, those are the ones I'm talking about. In 78 (maybe late 77) Gm changed from a 2 1/4 wide spring with 9/16 mounting bolts to a 2 1/2 wide spring with 7/16 mounting bolts. The Gymkana option still used the 2 1/4 spring but on the 2 1/2 cover. Those spacers filled the gap on the front and rear of the spring. They won't fit the 9/16 bolts.
The GM service cover for 63-77 is the 78-79 cover.

Thanks Mike.

By the way.... the shock mount went in easy as pie. Alternating tapping with tightening really did the job. I installed the shock as well just like you recommended. Granted....the hole might have been worn a bit from the first shock mount but still, I should have never went crazy with that sledge hammer like I did.
