One of the mounting bolts snapped while I was working on the wires on the backside. It is the ground wire and I was trying to see if anyone has replaced just that bolt without having to buy a new housing. Let me know if any of you have experience with this.
I repaired my 4 housings...
Started by sandblasting the housing, drilling out the existing studs then tack welding a 1/4" bolt with flat head (actually used for cleats on snowmobile track) then painted with silver and installed new gaskets.
So you were able to tap out the old bolts, right? Was it hard? Tell more please
I drilled through the center of the broken stud with a 1/4" bit, cleaned up any leftovers with a dremmel tool then placed the new bolt through the hole and place a few tack welds on the bolt head with my mig to prevent movement and also to provide a reliable ground.
When i re installed the housings in the car i cleaned up the Harness to ensure clean tight connections and proper grounds.
