Hey im thinking about buying a 74 corvette, did those cars use leaded fuel? if so what do you do to use unleaded.
also i have a 87 dodge omni at home, it's front wheel drive, and when i put it up on a stand and put it in drive i noticed that only one of the wheels turn, the other one barley turns, if you give it a roll itll go, but it defintly does turn from the power of the engine. is this supposed to happen or shold both wheels be turning. thanks alot
I have a 74, and the information sticker in the storage compartment recommends 91 octane or higher unleaded. Leaded fuel is not required or recommended. Somewhere in the early 70's the switch from leaded to unleaded was made.
About your dodge omni....with a limited slip differential, one wheel should do most of the driving.
I had my 74 engine rebuilt and the guy told me to put some lead additive into the tank once in a while to help lubricate the valves. I would think that running unleaded would be just fine.
Running leaded gas in todays cars though would be a quick way to kill your catlylic(sp?) converters.
