Default 2 post lift

I have the oppurtunity to get a 2 post lift for my garage for next to nothing. I would be using this for storage. Will this cause any damage to my vehicle since it would be suspended by the chassis with the wheels hanging down. Car is a '71 convertible.

if you position the feet of the lift properly, it should actually be alot better for your car: takes alot of stress off the suspension.

but study up on the lift, write the manufacturer, find out what maintainence it needs. you dont want the sucker going out on you suddenly....

That my friend is some advice. ;)

If you store it up on the lift you might want to put some blocks or whatever under the lift and let the lift sit on the those blocks this way you are taking the stress off the lift as well as the car.

Any decent above ground lift will have a positive stop lock that will support the weight of the car with out all the weight on the hydraulics. Since you can get it for next to nothing it might be very old and unsafe. Some of the old ones were screw drive and the screws could be worn out. Good Luck, Craig
