Default Update on 79 Exhaust system

Hey guys, just flew in to FL today. Picked up the Corvette and had it towed home. She's running rough. My pa thinks it's a timing issue. Dies when idling so I don't have a video of the exhaust running because it wasn't running right. But here's a quick video of what it looks like.
It's pouring out right now so I'll get under there tomorrow if it clears up.

He says this is one of the few Corvettes where it doesn't have the stock look of just hanging. It's well hidden tight up and inside. Looks pretty slick if you ask me.

This is one of it running, but my dad put the camera a little too close I think. Sounds terrible but here it is none the less

If it is idling poorly, do basic troubleshooting. Plugs, distributor cap and rotor, wires, timing, vacuum leaks as in disconnected hoses or a loose carburetor mounting, etc.

I'm a beginner when it comes to cars.. This whole project was a learn as I go with help. A family friend came back a couple years back when we did the engine swap and said certain lines didn't need to be connected because they were more for emissions. I honestly don't know where what line would go where.. Would my best bet be to take it somewhere to have them look it over?

My advice would be to learn to do it yourself. The information is out there. Much of it on this forum. You won't have enough time or money to pay someone else to do it for you.

I appreciate that. Everyone on here has definitely been a huge help during this process. I have been told checking the timing is best left to someone who knows how to do it. Do you think at least having that checked out by a pro would be worth it, or you think I should read up/youtube it and give it a go myself?
