Quick question, I had to open the center console in order to fix the cigarette lighter(which I did), upon opening I found this plug unconnected and can't seem to figure out where it goes.
Please gurus of knowledge, help a curious corvette owner out of his curiosity.

The radio is original, also it could be the automatic trans, but there are already wires leading to there, and no space available that I can see it could be connected to.
I will be taking off the gauges dash soon, since I need to replace the lamp for the clock and fix the clock ( its not moving). Maybe this plug goes behind that dash.
I am quite certain that it is the seatbelt connection going to the warning light and/or the interlock that prevents the car from starting unless the seatbelts are fastened. Mine is disconnected as well. I found the info in the AIM. I replaced my seatbelts with non-wired units, so I felt no compelling desire to hook the connections back together,,,why make trouble for yourself.
Wow, I was unaware that feature existed. I will most certainly not connect it. The buzzer was already annoying enough, I disconnected it. Thank you so much LudemJo.
Yesterday I removed the gauge panel to look for a place to connect such plug, I had no luck. I was clearly looking on the wrong place.

The interlock system you are referring to was only one year and that was 1974.
I looked at the seat belt ( removed the hand-brake console), there are only two wires there and they are going to the seat belt. They are black and white, and they connect to the seat buckle. On the wiring diagram I cant find the purple/yellow wire.
I have opened the console again, and inspected it further. Basically, the plug is only two prong, with each prong having two wires going in to it.
The two wires, pink and pink/white comes from the gear lever. They each go to their own prong. From the prong the pink wire remains pink and goes to darkness. The other (pink/white) becomes purple/yellow and merges with the purple wire.

I guess it will remain a mystery, if it is the interlock sytem I am missing a lot of stuff.
