Default 1981 header question

I have an 81 that im thinking about putting an exhaust system on from corvette central. Im trying to decide between part #323130 and the same system only its more symmetrical.
My question would be that by going to these headers it would make the smog pump inoperable, wouldn't it? If thats the case will that mess up my computer?
I guess I should have said my car is 100% stock at this point.

It will require deleting the AIR pump. If you have a bung welded in you can still mount the O2 sensor and the CCC system will still work fine. The bung should right below the flange on the drivers side

I got the CC system and it has the bung for the O2 sensor.

Computer has no clue of the AIR pump is there or not. I took mine off and plugged the holes in the headers / manifolds. Runs fine, no CEL. Also put a torque converter lockup bypass switch for in town driving and my mileage has gone UP.

Thanks for the reply, how is the quality of that system, how has it worked, can you tell a difference?

you can always get the headers and have the AIR injection tubes welded into them, then you can run the air pump and keep the car running per the factory.

I also got the corvette central dual exhaust system for my car, fits good with only minor tweaking, I put long tube headers on the car and the system was built for stock manifolds so I had to cut the pipes off enough to allow for the headers, not a tough job.

I thought the quality was great. It bolted right up with no hassles at all. Sounds nice, it is quiet with the Magnaflows, just a nice low mellow sound, not obnoxious at all.

Performance wise I could not tell. Short of going to a dyno or track and recording baseline numbers and then going back after a change is made there is no real way to tell for sure.

Most guys put stuff on / change things and swear it runs better / faster but really have no facts on it.

Cool, were the headers coated?

Do you recommend them versus the long tube?

I did not get the headers, I got the complete system that bolted up to the stock manifolds. #323100
