Default Looking For Suspension Help

I have been having an issue with my 72 where whenever I turn the wheel at about 50 to 60 mph the car and steering wheel begins to shake. I did not seem to have this problem when the car was am automatic, after I installed the TKO 5 speed, the problem appeared. I would be happy to provide details of my setup if there is someone out there that can help. At this point my first thought is maybe I have to much sway bar for such a light car. I believe I have an 1.125" diameter in the front and a 5/8" in the rear.

I think I am going to disconnect the rear sway bar and see if that helps at all.

Have you had the ball joints, tie rod ends, steering control valve, etc. checked for play. Have you checked for a loose road wheel. Have you checked the tires for a shifted belt? The sway bars arent causing your car to shake in turns.

My steering box was rebuilt and adjusted about 7 years ago, steering feels tight, very little if any play between steering wheel and tires. I haven checked for belt shift, not sure what to look for?

All the ball joints and bushings have been replaced and probably have no more than 20,000 miles on them, but I haven't considered checking them, but I will.

My rear tires are larger in diameter than front, I think they are about 28" and the front are about 26 inches in diameter. I needed to use spacers so my Crager rims would clear my brake calipers on the rear tires. I may have spacers on front as well, I need to check.

The steering wheel shakes only at speed? How are are you turning? Lane changes or hard turns? Is it worse in either direction? That could be anything from a bad tire to loose wheel bearings. More details will help.

it happens at higher speeds 50 mph and above. Lane changes are fine, it happens more on back road driving on curvy roads. It happens in any direction. I am going in this thread under the assumption that bearings, bushings, steering box and tie rods are all OK as they have very few miles sense they were all replaced. The power steering leaks but the valve is also fairly new with maybe 15,000 miles on it. Maybe I need to check out some of the items I am assuming to be OK. It could be the tires, they are the oldest thing on the car.

You can't assume that the parts are good just because they only have 20000 miles. Check everything.

Every thing checked out fine but I do run my tires at about 25 psi, I increased to 30 and problem is pretty much gone however i noticed the passenger side tire has more wear on the inside edge. I figure I would have the alignment checked this week as well.
