Hallo...the rear end of my '73 vette makes awful noises when I slowly turn!! I had the fluid replaced with GM a while ago but the noise is still there.
I really don't want to do a rebuild $$$ and I was wondering what should I do to make it better...besides cleaning it very well and replacing the fluid.
The noise is not constant..only when turning slowly..:
Is there a better additive + lube to take care of this problem?
I heard about AMSOIL gear lube..any thoughts or suggestions?
Are we talking a popping, snapping-type noise? If that's the case, get two bottles of the GM friction modifier and dump them in. Once you do that, do some slow, tight figure eights in a parking lot to work the modifier into the clutch packs.

yes!...popping and snapping noises!
I did have the service done before summer: fluid changed and GM additive added.
