40 mm is i 1/2 inches, you'll need adapters

the wheels have 40mm of positive offset, typical corvette wheels have offsets in the low negative range, thus a spacer to push the wheel further out. Here is a link explaining offset

Is it bad or unsafe to use spacers? And how big the spacer has to be?

Hi Svmagnum,

I think you will have some overall fitment issues with those wheels. I have wheels with the following specs and they fit with no issues. It might be wise to stick with something similar to be sure. I believe you can adjust the offset a little up to 5 inches, but you need to be careful to avoid interference.

RIM DIAMETER: 18 inches

RIM WIDTH: 8 inches

BOLT PATTERN: 5 x 4.75 inches

OFFSET: 4 inch

CENTER BORE: unknown.

If you want to do the math

I'm not a fan of spacers.

Do a search in this forum using the word "adapters". There is lots of reading on this.
If you are looking for 18x8 wheels you should try to find wheels with a 4" backspace and a 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern. Then you won't need adapters.
Good luck in your search.
