while looking under my dash to check the fuse on the cig liter, I noticed what looked like a light switch. after tracing the other end back, I think it is the trip reset.
but not sure were it would mount.
is there supposed to be a hole in the dash for it to poke through?
beginning to think this was the BU car..........Bubba University
If it is the trip reset there should be s metal bracket under the edge of the dash about 4" over to the left from the center controls for the headlight override etc.
Just a tin plate with a hole in it

headlight over ride ??? is that to keep the lights down , but still lit ?[/QUOTE]
Yes. The headlight override lets you put the lights up and down (with the engine running to provide vacuum) but the bulbs do not light. Use it to work on the lights or ride around looking cool during daylight or to park the car with the headlights up, but not lit.
i think it would be neat to have a vacuum shut off, so you could turn the lights on , but not have them pop up. and use the head light like running lights.
I just cleaned and painted my front grills, with the engine off, I turned on the head lights....cool!
