Exhaust Manifold Mod When Keeping Smog.
Guys,
Trying to keep my smog system on my '69 BB coupe for originality but those big "humps" in the exhaust manifolds for the smog tubes are just laughing me and my idea of free flowing exhaust design in general- being that close to the ports and all. They seem to take up nearly 1/4 of the port area...
Does anyone know if you can hog those things out with a die grinder and still have your smog tubes fit correctly?? It looks like there is a lot of room in the "normal wall thickness" of the manifold casting for the threads of the smog tubes, but I thought I'd check before possibly killing my manifolds.
