Default Intake Gasket

What would cause the gasket to be forced out from between the intake and the block?

Thanks!

Is this a recent install of an intake manifold or it has been there for years and this is something new?

I do have a PCV valve install and it does have vacuum to it. I am not sure if it is constant pressure. I believe that it is connected to a thermo vacuum switch (I am currently 2,000 miles away form the car).

I have had the 77 for less than a year, I cannot say when the gasket was replaced but top end work was performed by the PO.

So it could have simply slipped or been squeezed out when the PO installed it?
