proflo after pertronix hei upgrade and backfire
This is how my brand new edelbrock proflo looks like after installing pertronix hei upgrade kit.
Obviously its needing some adjustment, my stock vacuum advance canister apears to be jammed so we didnt replace it.
I have some questions on the installement of the weights and the position of the center weight. There are conflicting ideas on the net. I used the manual provided but sone ppl are positioning the center weight the other way round. Could this be my problem?
Some say it should look like this, but the instructions show the center weight flipped.
Idle sounds very good. From halt when I fully press throttle then comes some backfires then in a moment it starts running properly, I must say there is a good difference in performance apart from the back fire. If I get rid of that it will be bear perfect for my taste.

did you re-set your timing, the distributer could be a tooth off after you reinstalled it. I would re-check everything you did before you start getting worried. could even be the 5/7 plug swapped. ive done that countless times.

Those foam filters burn easy, eh? I threw mine away for just that reason and went back to a K&N filter. They just don't filter that well to begin with and don't filter at all when burned.
